Getting the Baby Hungry turtle off my back!!!!!!!

Yes, yes I have to admit the baby hungry turtle is on my back these days.  But, thankfully Kylene and Jeremy don't live to far away and just happen to have new baby "Snophie" ( as the boys say) for me to go and cuddle with.  I have been able to go 4 times now. The boys twice and Bryan once.  Here are some pictures of the newest extended family addition.

Sammy and David just thought she was the coolest thing ever!!
Sammy just didn't want to let her down.  She was so good to let both of the boys hold her.  Sam was quick to point out most of her body parts and was very happy to help her with anything.  That including feedings, burping, cuddling and even diaper changing.  I am sure however that the last one will not last long...

David thought she was pretty cool too.  Then he started to ask me where his baby sister was and I kept having to explain to him that if he has a sister she is waiting up in Heaven for mommy and daddy to be ready.  He seemed to except that for now.
Bryan apparently has had the turtle too because he ooo'd and ahhh'd when it was his turn and would give her up to anyone.  Until she decided she was hungry and then he had to!!
I finally got my turn, I had to wait because I was able to hold her with no competition before.  She is so cute and growing fast.  Not sure if it shrunk the turtle or made it bigger, but we had fun.

More adventures of being 5

Sometimes I think it scares me just how smart David is.  At school yesterday they were asked by Mrs. Fletcher to color there book (printed computer paper stapled together).  In this book were pictures of different objects covered with snow.  David then proceeded to tell Mrs Fletch that he would not be coloring his book.  When she asked him why this was his response "dah, snow is white".  She told me she had nothing to say to that and nether did I.

The adventures of being 5!

Well today started out as every other school day.  I dropped David off at school and went about running so errands.  While at Costco I recieved a phone call " Is this David Mom?".  Little did I know as this is our first school nurse call what that meant.  I replied hesitantly "yes".  The school nurse then proceeds to tell me that while at recess this morning David and his cohorts all decided to stick rocks up their noses.  I stop in my tracks, middle of the asile.  OH CRAP!!! I think.  Did all of the kids get the rocks stuck, was it davids idea, how many apology letters will i need to write to the other parents, etc..  Oh no, NO ONE else got one stuck just David.  So I stop shopping, check out and head to the school.  In that short span David snorted that rock higher and higher so that when I arrived at the school it was no longer visiable.  Yes it was ALL THE WAY up there.  So I take him to our Family practice doctor who tries twice to retreive the pebble with no luck infact probably pushing it further up.

David at first Doctors office
Then we are told we have to options.  Emergency Room or see a specialist Ear Nose and Throst specialist.  We chose the latter.  As we are driving I am really trying to figure out how the boys decided to do this.  David then explains to me that "my boogers were hungry and the rocks were there so...." What could I say to that.

We arrived at the specialist office.  David is excited now to see what the rock will look like when it comes out.  I try telling him that it will just be covered with boogers.  I am pretty sure he thought that it would like change in to money or something cool to play with.

As we go back to our room the and wait for a minute I tell him that what the doctor is going to do may hurt and he doesnt seem to mind.  Now we are seeing Dr. Gross and he was awesome.  He spray some lidocain up Daves nose and went to work.

Method number one
Well lets just say we are grateful for all of the previous children who have so thoughtfully gone before us because Dr. Gross knew pretty quick that this method would not work.  So he pulled out the big guns!!

Method number two
This was the winner!!! Dr. Gross was able to "catch" the pebble first try with this one.  David did great and didnt even have to be held done during the retreval process and for that Dr. Gross gave him a sucker ( not sure that I wanted to reward the behavior but oh well).  And here is the pebble next to a dime.  Not a very big pebble but a very expensive one that David and I decided to keep.  We havent named it yet, but I have a feeling that will come in time.

Have  a great day!!! I know that I did!

The things my kids say.....

While we were driving in the car yesterday the topic rapidly got out of hand and suddenly my little sammy was talking about how Jesus was mad because a big spider came and tickled him.  He then went on to explain how that spider was not nice and he was in big trouble.  Both me and Bryan had a very hard time containing ourselves to explain to him that yes if a spider came and tickled him it would not be very nice.  Well the story has keep rolling because this morning the darn spider came back and just keeps getting in trouble.

What an imagination!!

David on the other hand is convinced he is the most amazing inventor.  He always is looking to build a new "machine".  Some of his machine (I will try and get a picture of the next one) consist of a rubber band, a toy knife, a transformer that runs the machine, a Mr potato head or at least parts of one etc...   These machine do everything from doing his chores to making him a friend to play with.  It is so awesome to see his imagination run wild.

Our trip to see the "Fuzzy Reindeer"

Well this last weekend, minus the cold, we ventured to the Elk feeding station up at Oak Creek.  The boys were not quite sure what they were going to see, as the last time we went you could only view the Elk through binoculars.  While you could say we got up close and personal with the so call "Fuzzy Reindeer" this trip.

David was very concerned that Santa was missing all of his Reindeer.  He was determined to find Rudolph amongst the herd but had no luck.

We were lucky enough to get to ride the "truck" ( that is in quotes because I am not so sure it was the safest thing to do after we had to sign a waiver stating that we would not hold the preserve responsible if gored by an Elk)  and yet we got on anyway.

As we pulled out into the herd I realized this might have been a mistake for the creature from afar may be beautiful but up close and personal is not were I wanted to be.  Davids comments were priceless, however.  "These Reindeer are really big mom",  Mom we are driving in reindeer poop",  EEWWW that reindeer is pooping",  "Mom how come reindeer poop?", "Why are reindeers bums white?", "Why does it (poop) look like raisins?" "Dad are reindeers born in a egg" etc etc.  He entertained the entire tuck to say the least.  The poor little volunteer guide who was supposed to be telling us all about the Elk was just trying to get David to say it was a Elk and not a reindeer.  It was priceless.

I was wondering just what is Elk was thinking as we drove passed with in 3 feet of its butt.  " I wonder what those things are?" Or " I wonder if they have something tasty with them?" I am not sure he was happy we were there, but we were at least once we thawed.

We have been having some fun experiences up here and are excited to have more.  We are focused on staying close as a family and enjoying one another.  Living here will be an experience to remember.  We love everyone and hope we can see you soon.

Our First Christmas in Washingto!

I have to say it went very well!! The boys were very worried that Santa wouldn't know that we had moved.  I explained that of course I sent him a change of address notice just like the post office, and you know what he obviously got it because we had presents from him!!

Santa brought Sam the "Tato Head" He asked for and he was very happy!!

David was such a good boy this year that Santa brought him the "Bumblebee Transformer the yellow one" (he would say it just like the little boy off of the Christmas Story about his BB gun so cute)

Sad but very true Bumblee the transformer was the first casualty of the day and thanks to rushed mechanical aid of dad he was fixed to full working order!!
This was Davids Pride of Christmas moment.  A present that he himself picked out, helped pay for, hid, wrapped, and it was for his Dad.

So thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Johnson we had so Christmas music at our house.  They happened to have pick singing Christmas cards that each of the boys could have!! ( Thanks Mom)  Just so you are aware the batteries we gone in two days and that is ALOT of Music

Dad was able to pick out so books for the boys this year and found a great one for David!! It is all about the bad manners people use.  If you need a laugh you should try this book, I cant get through it with out laughing.

Let me preface these next pictures.  This is Sam and this is Christmas Day in a nut shell!

Happy Sam!!
Sad Sam :-(

Done Sam!!

Merry Christmas to Mom and Dad!!
