Last Half of family vacation

And so the vacation continues...

This is Cape Meres just east of Tillamook OR.  We were so excited to see the light house here and the big octopus tree.  The kids were so happy to be in the "big forest" they hoped to see Bambi!

 

 This is the trail down to the light house.  It is right on a point that had a beautiful view.

A small hike away we found the Octopus tree! Not sure if you can read the sign but it was really awesome.

 This is off of the look out by the tree we stopped for a few and enjoyed the view!!

My sweet sweet David insisted on picking me flowers where ever we went!!

We finally found a beach!!! The boys had waited the entire trip for the beach and on that Monday afternoon the sun finally came out and we hit the beach.  All of the locals probably thought we were crazy they were in long pants and parka's and here we are playing the ocean and enjoying every minute of it!!

 The boys enjoying the picnic we had packed that day and loving gritty PB&J and the beach!! Not to mention the seagulls were getting very friendly.

 Bryan finally got his R & R this trip.... He felt much better after his nap in the shade!

 I don't think the picture quite does it justice but they were covered head to toe and loved every minute.  I think we could have stayed for days!

This is the aviation Museum in Tillamook.  You cant quite see just how big this thing is until a picture further down.  All I can say is wow!!

 This was a massive cargo plane that was parked out front the boys wanted to see the inside and yeah it was huge too!

 OK so these are the hanger doors!! see those little tiny people walking down at the bottom that is Bryan and the boys walking back into the blimp hanger. It was so huge it is hard to describe.

David especially loved how most of the fighter jets were painted as sharks and things.  He was convinced that he would fly one one day.  Mom is not so sure about that.

Both boys found these "way cool penny machines" .  We figured out that it was a great take home for them and we could forgo the gift shop (tehehe)

We just had to go back to the Tillamook Cheese factory one more time!! It as just as good the second time around.  Plus the boys picked up treats and mom and dad bought squeaky cheese for the ride home.
